Job Description
Position Title: Food Runner/Server Assistant
Reports To: F&B manager
Location: The Palm Bar
Employment Type: Full-Time
Employment Type: Full-Time
Rate: $15.00 per hour plus 2% of sales
Position Summary:
The Food Runner / Busser is a key team member at Palm Bar ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the guests maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining and pool areas and assisting servers and other team members as needed. This role requires excellent communication skills a strong work ethic and a commitment to creating a clean welcoming environment for guests.
The Food Runner / Busser is a key team member at Palm Bar ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the guests maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining and pool areas and assisting servers and other team members as needed. This role requires excellent communication skills a strong work ethic and a commitment to creating a clean welcoming environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Delivery:
- Deliver food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to the designated dining area or poolside.
- Ensure that all orders are complete and correct before serving.
- Assist servers with any guest-specific requests or additional needs.
- Dish and Trash Removal:
- Clear dirty dishes from tables and poolside chaise lounges transporting them to the dishwashing area.
- Remove trash from dining and pool areas and ensure waste is disposed of in the proper receptacles.
- Maintain cleanliness of all service areas including tables floors and surrounding areas.
- Pool Area Maintenance:
- Assist with the organization and cleanliness of the pool area including ensuring chairs are neat and guests have the necessary amenities.
- Monitor pool area for cleanliness removing empty cups dishes or debris promptly.
- Table Setup and Breakdown:
- Assist servers and managers with setting up tables for new guests including placing menus silverware and napkins.
- Help with resetting tables after guests depart ensuring a quick turnaround for the next guests.
- Sidework:
- Perform any additional sidework as requested by servers bartenders or management.
- Assist with restocking supplies organizing storage areas or other tasks that support the restaurants operations.
- Team Support:
- Communicate effectively with servers kitchen staff and management to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.
- Assist with any additional duties needed to support the overall guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Ability to carry large trays and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects including trays dishware and trash.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to be part of a collaborative team.
- Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment is a plus but not required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand walk and carry items for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions when serving poolside.
