As a Software Development Engineer on our Last Mile Technology team youll be at the forefront of solving these intricate puzzles. Youll work on systems that make intelligent decisions in real-time optimize complex logistics networks and coordinate thousands of delivery events across diverse geographical areas. Our systems must excel in environments ranging from dense urban centers to suburban neighborhoods each presenting unique challenges that require innovative solutions.

- End-to-End Ownership: Work on complete solutions from route optimization to fleet management from simulation to real-world deployment

Required Skills:
- Experience with Unity Unreal CryEngine Lumberyard or proprietary 3D game engine or industry-equivalent technology (3D animation simulation etc)
- Experience in developing or working on high-fidelity simulation environments such as Nvidia Isaac for creating digital twins that accurately represent real-world scenarios
- 1 year of AI/ML integrations in games.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- Knowledge of computer vision sensor fusion and perception systems including work with sensors (cameras LIDAR radar)
- Experience with behavior planning or decision-making systems for AI agents such as motion planning path finding algorithms or navigation systems
- Background in real-time systems and embedded software development
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch TensorFlow)
- Experience with frameworks such as ROS/ROS2
- Experience with simulation environments (Gazebo IsaacSIM)
- Understanding of localization and mapping (SLAM) techniques
- Experience with safety-critical software development practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
