Job Summary
The incumbent will conduct research at the University of British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (UBC BC CDC) in the evaluation and analysis of the current wastewater surveillance program. This work is to support efforts by the UBC CDC to assess the reach and impact of the provincial wastewater surveillance program between 2020-2025. They will perform rigorous analysis of the provincial wastewater surveillance program (e.g. types of activities definitions of engagement outcomes and impacts) and quantitative analysis (e.g. trends in wastewater signal sensitivity and specificity) report and presentation on findings of the above and design and implement impact evaluation of wastewater surveillance program
Organizational Status
The incumbent will report directly to the Principal Investigators of the research study and will interact and work closely with research staff UBC CDC employees Provincial Health Service Authority employees and other internal and external stakeholders. Daily work will be in collaboration with and supervision of Drs. Aidan Nikiforuk (Research Associate) and David McVea (Primary Investigator).

Consequence of Error/Judgement
Errors made could influence the ability of researchers and staff to meet critical deadlines as well as compromise the results of research projects and therefore impact the credibility of the research team. Errors in performance of the above-related duties could have a significant impact on the effectiveness image reputation and financial status of the Principal Investigator the department and the university.
Supervision Received
Works with considerable latitude. Research work reviewed against achievement of project objectives. Research facilitation activities are reviewed for conformity to established objectives and standards.
Supervision Given
May manage junior researchers research assistants and technicians junior staff or students.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of three years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
