The University of Louisville School of Dentistry prepares students for a career in Dentistry. Dental Clinic Staff are an integral part of that preparation in that they facilitate the interface between student providers and their patients during a critical time in their studies within the clinic setting. While their first two years are spent in a traditional classroom setting student providers spend their last two years in a dental clinic setting learning hands on. All dental support staff directly support the work of the students as they progress towards completion of their clinical requirements. The School of Dentistry is seeking to hire a Manager Dental Clinic. This position directly supports the Office Manager of the Emergency and Limited Care Treatment Clinics which includes operations supervising of the following areas; Admissions Emergency Hygiene DMD Recall OHR TMD Operative Competencies DMD Oral Surgery Care Partners Lobby Reception Records Denture Call Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with Office Manager faculty peers and supervisors to deliver customer service oriented and patient centered care within the DMD clinics.
Assist the Office Manager in the supervision of approximately 18 direct reports; organizing coverage in all areas responsible approving time sheets as appropriate.
Assist the Office Manager in managing patient volume; cross train to support PSRs while checking patients in and to support Assistants with clinic operations.
Monitor insurance claim notes from the Billing Office and support the staff in making necessary corrections for successful collection.
Develop payment plans with patients who have overdue balances.
Facilitate the transfer of patient information regarding medical consults.
Supervise the entry point of incoming referrals ensuring that patients are registered and referrals distributed to the appropriate clinics in a timely manner.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to provide first point of contact response to escalated patients.
Monitor and maintain equipment in and out of the clinic.
Assist with the organization the distribution and the monitoring of Veterans Compassionate Care Funds.
Maintains HIPAA OSHA and Infection Control compliance at all times.
The ideal candidate will have clinical dental experience and knowledge of an electronic health record database. He or she will also be proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$89483.00Target Compensation Minimum:
$59655.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
