Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent and one year experience in general clerical or animal related positions or closely related experience.
Prior experience coordinating events community programs or public outreach strongly preferred.
Excellent communication public speaking and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in computer operation Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for special events.
Must possess a valid Texas drivers license and have reliable transportation.
Comfortable working in an animal shelter environment with potential exposure to animals of varying temperaments allergens and cleaning supplies.
Ability to exercise good judgement when dealing with the public volunteers animal-related concerns and confidential information.
Ability to have a compassionate attitude and sense of urgency in getting animals safe and cared for.
Ability to communicate courteously and diplomatically; manage multiple tasks programs and events.
Physical Demands:
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
Lift up to 40 lbs. with and without assistance.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
