Product Support Engineer

Thales OME designs a range of state-of-the-art solutions for some of the most technically advanced defence and security platforms in the world and we are seeking an experienced Product Support Engineer who can apply their knowledge and skills to support our customers and our equipment.

Our Opportunity

As a Product Support Engineer you will be the first point of contact for technical queries and support for our internal and external customers.

This role is primarily to support our customers providing on-site technical support to our industry colleagues within Glasgow.

The LR grade is dependent on experience.

The role will include the following activities:

• Lead and participate in fault-finding activities technical investigations reviews and improvement projects on complex Optronics products
• Investigate and address obsolescence reliability and supportability issues arising within the product
• Engage with the customer and a multi-disciplinary team across the projects to develop and implement an optimum solution to any technical issues that the customer may experience
• Represent the company in technical interactions with external organisations
• Develop an understanding of the domain in which the product will be used
• Documenting findings results and report writing

About you:

Ideally an experienced Engineer with a background in Electronics debug you will have the following:

• Qualified in Electronics or a relevant STEM subject to either Degree level or HND with industry experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure individually and as part of the larger support and engineering teams
• Experience in the use of standard test equipment
• Previous experience of fault finding on complex electronic and or optical products
• Experience of debugging PECs to component level

Location

The position will be based at the Thales site in Glasgow primarily supporting our industry colleagues.
