We are seeking a supporter of learning who enjoys working in a student centered inquiry based learning environment. This position supports students in inclusion and/or sub-separate programming. Position Objective:This position is accountable for providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision care and instruction of students with special needs in the general education setting and/or sub-separate setting. A thriving paraprofessional is caring compassionate and committed to each students : Apponequet Regional High School Sub-Seperate ClassroomResponsibilities:Adapts classroom activities assignments and/or materials under the direction of thesupervising teachers for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom classroom assessments and work while collecting data for the purpose ofsupporting teachers in the classroomAssists and escorts students when necessary for the purpose of attending to thestudents care needs and arrival to/from destinations Attends meetings and inservice presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/orconveying information relative to job functionsCommunicates with supervising instructional staff and a variety of health careprofessionals and professional support personnel for the purpose of communicatingprogressImplements under the supervision of assigned teacher research based interventions forthe purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts Maintains instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records for thepurpose of ensuring availability of items; providing written reference; and/or meetingmandated requirementsMonitors students daily schedule for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positivelearning environmentPerforms other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient andeffective functioning of the workProvides under the supervision of the designee instruction to students in a varietyof individual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectivesto ensure students success in schoolSupervises individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for the purpose ofproviding a safe and positive learning environmentResponsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to allindividuals regardless of race color gender age religion gender identity nationalorigin marital status sexual orientation disability or homelessnessPerformance of other job-related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications: 1.
