The Global Audit and Risk team performs operational audits has extensive purview over the Sarbanes Oxley testing program and oversees the Enterprise Risk Management capability for Sabre Corporation. The function is part of Sabre Corporations broader Finance team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer administratively and to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors functionally.

Internal Audit Principals are subject matter experts who lead audit and risk initiatives across Sabres complex technology environment. This is an individual contributor role with indirect leadership responsibilities offering a path toward people management or deeper technical specialization.

What Youll Work On:

Operational Auditing

Youll play a key role in delivering Sabres risk-based audit plan:

  • Lead dynamic risk assessments to identify and prioritize audit and advisory engagements within at least one assigned functional area (e.g. Finance HR) including the ownership of building meaningful relationships with leaders across those areas;
  • Oversee operational audits with a focus on quality and effectiveness which adheres to Sabres internal audit processes and to the updated Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as established by the Institute of Internal Auditors;
  • Partner with our automation and analytics Principal on data analytics opportunities for operational audits;
  • Communicate audit results to management and advise/educate management on control deficiency remediation and/or updates when needed; and
  • Identify fraud risks and provide actionable recommendations to address root causes.

Sarbanes Oxley

Youll contribute to Sabres strategic SOX program delivered in monthly sprints:

  • Perform SOX testing independently within your assigned domains (e.g. revenue fixed assets).
  • Review others work and offer constructive feedback.
  • Deliver SOX training and coach control owners and auditors.
  • Recommend control improvements to enhance program efficiency.
  • Support scheduling and administration of SOX activities when required.
  • Collaborate with external auditors as needed.

People Management

All audit and risk team members are leaders. As a Principal Auditor you will:

  • Provide constructive feedback on performance for both audit projects and other audit activities.
  • Develop and lead annual audit training for the internal audit team and others as necessary to improve skills and knowledge;
  • Collaborate with the Audit and Risk leadership team on people development and career development for auditors across the function.

Enterprise Risk Management

Sabres ERM program is led by the VP of Audit and Risk and an Audit Director. You may be asked to support this effort by:

  • Linking ERM risks to internal audit activities.
  • Researching internal and external risk topics.
  • Assisting with risk identification assessment and monitoring using the COSO framework.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Four-year college degree
  • A minimum of eight to ten years of experience in the internal audit profession
  • An active professional certification/designation (e.g. CIA CISA)
  • Advanced knowledge of audit standards and best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven project management experience
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% including internationally

Not required but preference given to candidates with:

  • Audit experience in the technology sector
  • CPA
  • Experience with data analytics and automation
  • Programming Skills (e.g. SQL Python)
  • Legal Compliance experience
  • Familiarity with NIST frameworks (e.g. information security data privacy)
