Guilmette Middle School seeks a passionate Dance Teacher to inspire and engage students in grades 58 through diverse dance styles cultural connections and performance opportunities. Join our dedicated Guilmette community to help students grow in skill confidence and OverviewThe Dance Teacher will provide standards-based instruction in dance to middle school students (grades 58) as part of Guilmettes enrichment program. This role is central to building students artistic expression discipline and confidence while also contributing to the broader school culture through performances and community -Plan and deliver engaging standards-aligned dance instruction to diverse learners in a middle school setting. -Teach a variety of dance styles and techniques (e.g. modern jazz hip hop cultural and classical forms) to foster creativity and skill development. -Integrate dance vocabulary history and cultural connections into lessons to promote students appreciation of the arts. -Prepare students for school and community performances including the Guilmette Dance Ensemble. -Collaborate with colleagues in the arts team (music theatre visual arts) to support cross-disciplinary projects. -Incorporate social-emotional learning equity of voice and Guilmettes core instructional strategies (modeling checks for understanding academic discourse and student exploration). -Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment that encourages participation creativity and respect. -Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments providing feedback and support for growth. -Participate in grade-level department and whole-school meetings and professional development. -Support the mission of Guilmette Middle School to develop independent thinkers and confident -Bachelors degree in Dance Dance Education or related field (Masters preferred). -Massachusetts DESE license in Dance (512) or ability to obtain licensure. -Prior experience teaching dance to children or adolescents preferably in a school setting. -Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage middle school learners. -Commitment to equity inclusion and culturally responsive teaching. -Ability to collaborate with colleagues students and families to support student Information -Reports to: Principal Guilmette Middle School
