Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach for Womens Rowing in the Athletics department.
The candidate would be expected to: assist the Head Coach in administering all phases of a competitive Division I intercollegiate womens rowing program in compliance with allNCAA Coastal Athletic Association and Monmouth University rules and regulations.
This is an in-person on-campus non-remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Head Coach in administering all phases of a competitive Division I intercollegiate womens rowing program in compliance with allNCAA Coastal Athletic Association and Monmouth University rules and regulations.
- Organize the successful identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes academic support skill instruction including practice training and event planning and execution and primary supervision of the program.
- Perform communication and public relations responsibilities.
- Create summer programs and assist with community service activities.
- Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated with which affects University Athletics.
- Ability to travel throughout the academic year and summer
- Other duties as assigned.
Recruiting:
- Assist with or manage student-athlete recruitment process
- As an NCAA certified recruiter successfully research scout evaluate and contact prospective student-athletes while operating within the scope of the department conference and NCAA regulations at all times.
- As an on-campus recruiter collaborate with other department and university staff in designing official and unofficial visits in compliance with all university conference and NCAA regulations.
- Establish and develop relationships with appropriate high school and junior college officials amateur club coaches and coaches within the sports national governing body for public relations purposes thus positioning the university nationally.
- Develop maintain and use master recruit databases to support decision-making assessments evaluations and program review.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated successful recruiting strategy and relationship building
- Experience coaching at the NCAA Division I level or proven successful high school club collegiate or elite rowing coaching experience
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel as necessary
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- A valid drivers license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here:Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy
- CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire
- Basic Knowledge of MS Word & Excel 2016
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Must have an understanding of the Universitys concern for academics as well as athletic excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and 3 years playing and/or coaching experience in rowing with knowledge of rules of the sport and playing strategies
- Previous trailer driving experience
- Previous experience recruiting at the collegiate level
- Demonstrated experience working in a leadership role in a collaborative environment
