HR ASSISTANT - LEADERSHIP & STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Location: OCDSB Administration Building; 133 Greenbank Road Nepean
Position Status: 1.0 Term Assignment to May 21 2027 (12 month work year)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 35 hours per week
Affiliation: OSSTF District 25 - Educational Support Professionals (ESP)
Salary range: $49556 to $61287 (Level 5)
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Program Manager Leadership and Staff Development the HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Division; assists with the coordination implementation and registration of leadership and staff development activities and workshops; maintains spreadsheets and databases; and serves as the frontline contact to all employees requiring staff development services.
There will be some physical requirements including lifting and carrying supplies/packages of paper boxes and files to and from workshop locations. Flexibility in hours of work to accommodate early morning workshops and/or workshops that end after scheduled work day is required.
Qualifications
A certificate in office administration and 2-3 years of experience in a secretarial and administrative capacity. An HR Certificate would be considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in word-processing spreadsheets databases electronic mail and other OCDSB software applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to exchange clarify and provide information on all aspects of OCDSB staff development initiatives.
Knowledge of human resources administration staff development functions relevant Board policies and procedures relevant collective agreements and handbooks.
Ability to understand and respond to inquiries using tact diplomacy and discretion; protects confidentiality integrity and privacy of employee information and files.
Demonstrates initiative and good judgment skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills required to prioritize work manage multiple and conflicting demands and to meet established deadlines.
Demonstrates a commitment to exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Accounting/mathematical skills required to track and consolidate division expenses.
Strong understanding of ApplyToEducation to approve and track staff absences related to staff development initiatives.
