How you will make an impact:
Were looking for a strong Software Engineer II (Journeys) to join a cross-functional product engineering team building next-generation experiences within Iterables this role youll lead complex high-impact projects from inception to deliveryworking across team boundaries navigating ambiguity and shaping technical direction with minimal oversight.

How you will make a difference:
- Drive large-scale backend projects across multiple stakeholders and teams leveraging the help of your teammates.
- Collaborate closely with product managers designers and fellow engineers to deliver features that improve usability scale and customer value.
- Own the full lifecycle of featuresfrom discovery and design to implementation deployment and optimize for support.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions that raise the bar for engineering excellence.
We are looking for people who:
- 2 years of backend software engineering experience ideally in a SaaS environment.
- A track record of delivering on defined work within an Agile environment.
- Proficiency in modern backend languagesScala and/or Java preferred.
- Experience working with distributed systems and databases such as Elasticsearch Postgres Redis or CockroachDB.
- A strong product-minded approachcomfortable working closely with PMs and designers and strategically weighing trade-offs across usability performance and complexity.
- Curiosity and adaptability when working in new domains or learning new technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
Bonus Points
- Experience with or interest in generative AI LLMs or agentic design patterns
Strong intuition for user experience and product qualityeven in backend-heavy roles - Background in building customer-facing product features or tools for non-technical end users
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture message queues like Kafka or Pulsar and high-scale distributed systems
- Exposure to full-stack development or close collaboration with frontend teams
- Prior experience in a remote-first or highly distributed engineering team

The US base salary range for this position at the start of employment is $114500 - $188000. Within this range individual pay is determined by specific US work location as well as additional factors including job-related skills experience relevant education or training and internal equity considerations.
Please note that the range listed above reflects only base salary. The total compensation package includes variable pay (where applicable) equity plus a range of benefits including medical dental vision and addition we offer perks such as generous stipends for health & fitness and learning & development among others.
