Location: Brownsburg Indiana
Pay Range: $26-30/hr. (based on experience)
Monday Friday 1st Shift (Flexible)
40hrs/wk. (ability to work overtime when needed)

The Yard Foreman reports directly to the Yard Manager and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the lumber yard ensuring that materials are properly stored organized and prepared for shipping. This role requires leadership attention to safety standards and a deep knowledge of lumber products and yard operations. The Yard Foreman supervises yard staff and coordinates logistics to ensure efficient and timely fulfillment of customer orders.
Day to Day
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of shipments ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliveries and receiving.
- Lead and manage the daily activities of the yard team ensuring efficient organization safety and productivity.
- Train mentor and manage yard staff providing direction on best practices and troubleshooting issues. Assign tasks and monitor performance.
- Oversee inventory control including the receipt storage and organization of lumber and related materials.

Skill Set
- Great Attitude and a Team Player!
- 3 years of experience in a lumber yard or similar outdoor environment; prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with inventory management systems and basic computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Ability to operate forklifts pallet jacks and other yard equipment safely
