Job Description

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Aircraft Sustainment / Liaison Engineer for the following locations:

  • Oklahoma City OK
  • Farfield CA
  • Wichita KS
  • Altus OK
  • Portsmouth NH
  • Trenton NJ
  • Goldsboro NC

Position Purpose:

Liaison (Sustainment) Engineer supporting line maintenance and heavy maintenance depot operations at US Air Force bases.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.
  • Providing work deviation authorization interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders.
  • Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
  • Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance.
  • Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support.
  • Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required.
  • Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action troubleshooting and follow-up.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs).
  • Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations

As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team you will meet the following:

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical Aerospace Mechanical or Structural Engineering
    • Two plus (2) years in specific technical discipline

    Required Unique Skills:

    • Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong investigative analytical and problem solving skills
    • Self-motivated conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Knowledge of FARs FAA policies and vendor manual (AMM IPC CMM)
    • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customers needs
    • Aircraft/airline/MRO aviation engineering experience desired
    • Ability to pass a Tier 1(minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts. Existing security clearance is preferred.

    Location / Travel:

    This is a REMOTE position with no relocation requirement. Travel to USAF bases will be required once per month (minimum) for 3-4 days at a time. All travel costs are covered (including flights hotel rental car GSA per diem etc.). Additionally the travel locations/frequency are subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed.

    This is a salary position including paid time off and health insurance benefits.
