Our incredible design hotel offers more than just accommodation it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests are treated like friends. Are you a natural host raving F&B fan and do you feel best when being part of an amazing team Would you like to ensure that every guest leaves full of positive energy Join us in making more conscious travel The Usual.

You are responsible for creating welcoming and unforgettable experiences for our guests while on shift. You are a natural host. As part of your daily shift you will be working at the check-in area U Bar and our restaurant locations. You will excel at caring for guests employees and providing a safe haven at The Usual Rotterdam.

The role
As host youre not only welcoming our guests - youre creating experiences for them. Picture yourself and your colleagues as memory makers where you wont hide behind a desk but you will cover activities between check-in bar restaurant terrace & meeting rooms. During your shift you are engaged in:
  • Creating an inviting and cozy ambiance that sets the stage for a positive stay from the very first hello.
  • Anticipating guest needs and preferences through conversations and thoughtful questioning.
  • Spread moments of joy by surprising our guests with unexpected gestures.
  • Address guests concerns and find swift solutions to secure their happiness.
  • Being a real team player. One moment youll check in our guests the next youll be shaking The Usual cocktail for them or helping your team in the pantry.
Your superpowers and requirements
With a genuine and friendly nature you effortlessly build connections with others. As a team player you thrive in an environment of open communication and honest feedback. You are also driven by a passion for your work you enjoy a wide range of tasks and with your time management skills you ensure that everything is handled. Next to this the following requirements apply:
  • Finished studies or currently pursuing studies in hospitality or relevant work experience. We welcome great characters from other industries / fields next to hospitality.
  • Fluency in English is essential additional languages are a plus.
  • Flexible availability (including weekends) with shifts starting between 07:00-15:00 and 15:00-23:00. Occasionally you will work a shift from 16:00 00:00.
  • Sustainability and hospitality arent just passions for youtheyre in your DNA. You embody and breathe hospitality every day taking it to the next level.
  • You are legally allowed to work in The Netherlands
