SALARY INFORMATION: $66158.17 Annually / Pay Grade M / Job Code HCP181
EXCEPTIONAL BENEFITS INCLUDE:
Under general supervision plans develops and conducts epidemiologic investigations surveillance and interventions to evaluate retention care patterns in People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Collects analyzes and interprets statistical data and prepares epidemiologic reports. Serves as an intermediate-level professional epidemiologist responsible for carrying out a broad and complex range of analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance detection prevention of HIV/AIDS. Works independently or as an experienced team member. Communicate epidemiological data for educational purposes for internal and external partners and translate data to public health action.As per grant funding requirements this position may occasionally require hours outside the defined work schedule plus weekends.
TYPICAL TASKS:
Under general supervision collect and analyze HIV/AIDS related data for the Early Care Clinics Ryan White Program.
Investigate data trends and patterns in People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) (trends in HIV/AIDS diagnoses HIV/AIDS related deaths and other pertinent factors in the HIV Care Continuum) to help address HIV care retention and help focus programmatic efforts.
Create and submit monthly updates and quarterly reports on data findings to the Ryan White Program and for other stakeholders or public.
Complete any other data related tasks as assigned.
Correlate HIV surveillance data to other datasets to become cognizant of specific aspects of HIV on a local state and national level.
Present at professional meetings and collaborate with public health and academic partners.
Bachelors degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field
OR
Two years of experience at the lower-level Epidemiologist 1 (HCP180) or position equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the minimum qualifications preference will be given to applicants with experience demonstrating competence in conducting public health surveillance analyzing epidemiologic data and implementing control measures.
