Description If you are a Materials professional looking for an opportunity to grow Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based at our Orange VA location the Materials Manager will direct and coordinate delivery of raw materials and supplies for the manufacturing of Professional Tools products. You will work in partnership with operations to determine daily production needs and facilitate work schedules. You will also work closely with customers to meet daily demand and ship product out on time. As the Materials Manager you will lead all aspects of material flow and maintaining control and accuracy over all good inventories including transactions planning scheduling cost warehouse receiving and shipping to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead a team of Replenishment Analysts and Receiving/Shipping and establish procedures to achieve the key performance metrics such as service level backlog safety productivity and inventory targets etc.
- Facilitate coordinate and manage the material flow from supplier to customer ensuring customer satisfaction from placement of order to on time delivery.
- Coordinate with sourcing on supplier improvement and other activities.
- Supervise stockroom and shipping activities and schedules.
- Analyze and optimize Plan for Every Part (PFEP) by adjusting and maintaining safety stock reorder point lead time and other parameters in the ERP system.
- Ensure ERP system integrity including accurate data entry cycle counting and recommendations for the system in coordination with operations manufacturing and finance.
- Assist finance with annual standard cost roll.
- Develop Materials goals priorities and action plans measure results.
- Ensure scheduling plans in coordination with capacity limitations material availability volume workloads staffing and unique requirements.
- Plan and implement product move and introduction strategies coordinate with Marketing and RIDGID Products Engineering Departments.
- Lead Materials Team Kaizen events on the shop floor with a continuous improvement attitude.
- Support ISO activities and procedures.
- Write procedures and documentation.
- Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

For This Role You Will Need:
- Bachelor of Science Degree (Business Management or Engineering) or equivalent experience plus demonstrated ability in a similar role
- Experience in Operations or Manufacturing Fields.
- Experience with ERP software (JDE preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proven Leadership skills managing direct reports in fast-paced operations environment.
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving and decision making.
- Strong written and verbal communications presentations skills and Project Management.
- Effective with cross functional teams a collaborator who can navigate various levels in the organization.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- MBA preferred.
- 5 Years in Operations or Manufacturing Fields
- Plant Materials Manager experience.
- Experience in Planning Processes Strategic Planning or Operations Field preferred (SOP Inventory Management Capital Investment Cost reduction)
- APICS certification
- Lean Champion or Lean background
- Knowledgeable of forecasting
