The role:
SoFi (the Firm) is seeking a detail-oriented self-motivated organized Finance professional to join our SoFis Bank Planning and Analysis (P&A) Senior Associate you will be a unique strategic partner to the Head of Strategic Finance Corporate Finance and Treasury role will require someone with a background in the financial services sector a high level of initiative strong attention to detail integrity and ability to partner across functional teams within the firm. You will be involved in the development of the Firms financial plan and key performance metrics required to achieve strategic management objectives. An ideal candidate is a self-starter with superior organizational presentation and technical skills who thrives in a complex work environment. You will play a key role in supporting the growth and future of the Firm.
You will work closely with senior executives (including CEO CFO) Strategic Finance Accounting and various Business partners to drive our forecast and close reporting and annual/long range planning cycles.
What youll do:
- Responsibility for developing and forecasting the balance sheet for the Firm and Bank legal entities including capital and liquidity management. Working closely with Strategic Corporate Finance and Treasury partners to collaborate and build an accurate forecast within the limits set by various stakeholders (regulators investors internal Board limits)
- Partner with the teams of each of SoFis businesses to forecast revenue and expense to managed EBITDA and net income while understanding revenue generators at their atomic level in addition to identifying incremental ways to achieve revenue with direct responsibility for the Corporate revenue segment
- Production and forecasting of funds transfer pricing rates provided to the finance partners
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing operations product and pricing among other areas to understand how expenses will impact Bank and product contribution profit
- Execute processes with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness of meeting deliverables on prescribed timelines
- Partner with the accounting team to understand and comply with all bank regulatory reporting requirements and explain financial performance relative to expectations
- Work closely with the Treasury team to understand and manage balance sheet constraints
What youll need:
- 3-5 years of finance-related experience at a large bank or financial services firm bank regulator or Big 4 firm
- BA/BS in Business Economics Accounting or equivalent
- Understanding of (1) the drivers of the business (2) understanding of unit economics for each of the businesses (3) different types of earnings associated with the businesses
- Strong understanding of bank regulations capital/liquidity management and banking industry
- Ability to articulate and deliver insightful relevant analysis of Bank financial data and business results (income statement balance sheet capital revenues expenses yields Funds Transfer Pricing) to determine present and future financial performance
- Evaluation of macroeconomic conditions and their impact on business operations
- Excellent modeling skills with the ability to create from scratch and lead model development efforts
- Ability to develop analytics tools tableau and other dashboard to report key metrics
- High efficiency as a reliable problem-solver who is comfortable navigating new ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations and exercises discretion related to confidential materials and company information
- Exceptional analytical creative problem solving and modeling skills
- Very strong Excel and PowerPoint/Slides skills; experience with google sheets/slides is a plus
- Familiarity with financial controls operations and accounting
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced constantly evolving and often ambiguous environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization
