About the Opportunity
Join a prestigious multi-accredited law firm with over 200 years of heritage serving the Yorkshire region. Were seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our highly regarded Clinical Negligence Department on a part-time basis (ideally 4 days) offering exceptional career development opportunities within one of Sheffields leading legal practices.
The Role
Youll provide integral administrative support to the Head of Department and fee earners within our specialist Clinical Negligence team with sole responsibility for key procedures and the autonomy to make the role your own.
Key Responsibilities:
Producing high-quality and timely correspondence for complex clinical negligence matters
Responding professionally to telephone calls and email enquiries from clients and professionals
Completing forms and preparing Court documents and electronic bundles for hearings
Undertaking audio and copy typing of letters and legal documents with precision
Managing diaries and coordinating appointments for busy fee earners
Dealing with file opening processes and maintaining accurate case records
Handling invoicing and billing procedures with attention to detail
Preparing files for audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Coordinating Legal Aid applications and tenders for clinical negligence cases
Administering and progressing cases using electronic Case Management Systems
Supporting the team with general administrative duties as required
What Were Looking For
Previous experience working in a similar Legal Assistant role ideally within Clinical Negligence or Personal Injury
Experience of administering cases using electronic Case Management Systems (essential)
Understanding of Legal Aid procedures in Clinical Negligence or detailed knowledge of case funding
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with professional telephone manner
Confident and proactive approach with ability to work independently
High level of attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy specialist environment
