Job Description
Albany Community School is seeking a part-time librarian to join our school community for 20 hours a week! We are looking for someone to share their love of reading with our students. We have a wonderful library that students in fifth through eighth grade enjoy! Come be a part of this wonderful experience for our students!Please refer to page 25 of the CBA for the pay scale - Community School is a rural school with about 80 students enrolled in fifth through eighth grade. We have a beautiful 50 acre campus that includes mountain biking trails with a pump track a beaver pond for observations and XC ski trails in the winter. Teachers enjoy using the land to enhance student learning. Our vision is We strive to provide an environment where students will develop to their fullest. We live this by creating meaningful learning opportunities on our school grounds and in the Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting six K-8 elementary schools the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program and Lake Region Union High Central Supervisory Union is located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom which is known for scenic and rugged area of hills sugarbushes farmland and lakes. While our communities are small they are truly that a community that people are proud to be a part of. While we are rural scenic drives will land you at Burke Mountain Craftsbury Outdoor Center and Jay Peak for skiing opportunities mountain biking at Kingdom Trails fishing at the local lakes and other outdoor activities. Our area is known for its sugar houses which features Sugar on Snow in early spring offering enjoyment for all ages.
