Job Description

Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Assistant Coach Mens Basketball in the Athletics Department.

The candidate would be expected to assist with day-to-day basketball operations; aid in on-court skill development; analyze and edit film for the purpose of scouting both opponents and ourselves; contribute to on-campus recruiting efforts; coordinate community outreach programs within our local area and oversee all student interns managers and volunteers associated with Mens Basketball; monitors student athletes progress and implement strategies to ensure academic success.

This is an in-person on-campus non-remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day basketball operations
  • Aid in on-court skill development
  • Analyze and edit film for the purpose of scouting both opponents and ourselves
  • Coordinate community outreach programs within our local area
  • Contribute to on-campus recruiting efforts
  • Oversee all student interns managers and volunteers associated with Mens Basketball
  • Monitors student athletes progress and implement strategies to ensure academic success.
  • Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated which affects University Athletics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Basketball playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level
  • CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire
  • Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Must have an understanding of the Universitys concern for academics as well as athletic excellence
  • A valid drivers license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here:Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy.
