Job Description: Configuration Management Specialist I
The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist I provides support to the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC) by assisting in the identification control and documentation of configuration items and technical documentation. This role supports the development implementation and maintenance of configuration management processes and technical writing standards to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and JTNC requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in identifying configuration items and establishing baselines.
Support configuration control processes including documentation of changes and status accounting.
Maintain configuration management records and provide reports to management.
Assist with audits and reviews of configuration items to ensure compliance with JTNC standards.
Support the creation maintenance and revision of technical documents including templates SOPs and test reports.
Ensure document updates are version controlled and accessible to JTNC staff in compliance with JTNC requirements.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical writers to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.
Assist in developing and maintaining CM processes plans and training materials.
Support meetings draft documentation and provide updates on configuration management activities.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related field (Engineering Computer Science or equivalent) preferred. 0-2 years of professional experience in configuration management or technical documentation. Familiarity with DoD standards configuration control tools and documentation processes. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to track multiple items. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint). Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a government/DoD environment.
