Description

Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Accounts Receivables Associate. As an Accounts Receivable Associate you will ensure that customer remittances (and related credits) are collected and processed in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires strong credit management skills primarily through persistent communication with customers our sales force and various other departments. This position is also expected to serve as a right hand and backup to the Accounts Receivable Manager. To be successful in this position you should have strong multitasking skills an outgoing personality a keen attention to detail and an excellent work ethic.

Monitor and apply customer payments and credits
Research and resolve customer credits and payment discrepancies
Resolve customer service issues and set up new accounts
Process substantial volume of daily cash receipts and related bank deposits
Monitor delinquent accounts and daily processing of credit holds as necessary
Process credit insurance requests and approvals
Participate in weekly credit and collections meetings

Qualifications

Work Environment:

Normal office environment

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word Excel outlook)
Excellent communication skills
Minimum of one year of prior experience in a similar function
Strong organizational skills and customer service skills with a great attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Ability to follow processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish) a plus
