Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Aircraft Sustainment / Liaison Engineer for the following locations:

Position Purpose:
Liaison (Sustainment) Engineer supporting line maintenance and heavy maintenance depot operations at US Air Force bases.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.
- Providing work deviation authorization interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders.
- Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
- Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance.
- Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support.
- Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required.
- Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action troubleshooting and follow-up.
- Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs).
- Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations
As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team you will meet the following:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical Aerospace Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- Two plus (2) years in specific technical discipline
Required Unique Skills:
- Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong investigative analytical and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Knowledge of FARs FAA policies and vendor manual (AMM IPC CMM)
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customers needs
- Aircraft/airline/MRO aviation engineering experience desired
- Ability to pass a Tier 1(minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts. Existing security clearance is preferred.
Location / Travel:
This is a REMOTE position with no relocation requirement. Travel to USAF bases will be required once per month (minimum) for 3-4 days at a time. All travel costs are covered (including flights hotel rental car GSA per diem etc.). Additionally the travel locations/frequency are subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed.
This is a salary position including paid time off and health insurance benefits.
