JOB SUMMARY:

The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the assessment planning implementation evaluation and treatment of care for patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Outpatient medical consultation services under the supervision of a physician in our medical office.
  • Evaluating diagnosing and treating new and existing patients medical conditions.
  • Conducting follow-up patient care.
  • Ordering and interpreting lab radiology and other diagnostic study results.
  • Prescribing and referring patients for consultations when appropriate.
  • Answering emergency telephone calls on a rotating schedule.
  • Administering and ordering drugs for patients.
  • Completing all notes/tasks in patients EMR accounts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed.
  • Performing patient physicals.
  • Providing health education to patients and families.
  • Supervising/coordinating the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinic.
  • Performing other duties as assigned in accordance with a nurse protocol agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 1-year clinical experience in Primary Care Family Practice or Urgent Care required
  • Masters in Nursing or Masters in Physician Assistant required
  • Current Licensed as Family Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant in Georgia required
  • Current board certification by AANP/ANCC (NPs) or NCCPA (PAs) required
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility to obtain preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment communication and teamwork skills.
