Labourer III

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Labourer III to join our team working between the Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the daily operations cleaning and upkeep facilities ensuring smooth and efficient functionality of water and wastewater treatment systems. This is a shared position between the two plants providing support where needed contributing to the safe and compliant operation of the is a physically demanding role that requires outdoor and indoor work in various weather position involves exposure to water wastewater chemicals and other materials used in treatment processes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of vessels basins tanks equipment facilities and grounds at both the water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Assist in the inspection and routine maintenance of equipment including pumps valves and pipelines.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing duties.
• Perform routine building maintenance including but not limited to cleaning painting and minor repairs.
• Repair doors windows flooring and other structural elements of the building.
• Perform basic landscaping and general upkeep of the exterior areas around facilities.
• Ensure that tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored after use.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment storage.
• Report any hazards repairs or concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications (Education Training Experience)

*Previous experience in utility maintenance is required. Experience working withwater or wastewater systems is an asset.

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.

* Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools.

*Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs standing for long periods and working in various weather conditions.

* Strong safety awareness.

*Valid drivers license
