Our priority is to make sure we hire mechanics that care about the safety of our drivers and the service provided to the community. As a mechanic with us the minimum responsibilities are:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment including lubrication oil changes fluid checks and filter replacements.

  • Inspect vehicles and equipment for signs of wear leaks or potential mechanical issues and report findings to the lead mechanic or supervisor.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance bay tools and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

  • Assist mechanics with basic repairs and part replacements as directed including tire checks battery maintenance and light mechanical tasks.

  • Document all maintenance activities accurately using fleet maintenance software including services performed and parts used.

  • Monitor and replenish shop supplies such as grease oil filters and cleaning materials.

  • Support road call responses by preparing tools and parts or assisting with minor on-site maintenance tasks.

  • Communicate professionally and courteously with drivers and other team members regarding vehicle conditions and maintenance needs.

  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations as outlined by the Ministry of Transport Ministry of Environment and Waste Connections of Canada.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or lead technician.

What We Need From You:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks or heavy equipment including oil changes lubrication and basic inspections.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems including diagnostic and maintenance software

  • Valid Class G drivers license

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance schedules and safety procedures.

  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
