Job Description
We are a Manchester-based school dedicated to providing a safe supportive and enriching environment for our students. We are seeking a reliable and responsible Part-Time Driver to join our team and ensure students are transported safely to and from school.
Position Summary:
The Part-Time School Driver will be responsible for transporting students between home and school each morning and afternoon following designated routes and schedules. The ideal candidate is dependable safety-minded and enjoys working with children. There will also be a monitor and no more than 8 children picked up all located in Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students to and from school according to established routes and schedules
- Maintain a punctual and reliable schedule MondayFriday (mornings and afternoons)
- Ensure the safety of all passengers at all times
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs
- Follow all traffic laws and school transportation policies
- Communicate effectively with school staff students and families as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut drivers license with a V endorsement (required) or willing to be trained.
- Clean driving record
- Prior experience driving professionally (school childcare or transportation setting) preferred
- Reliable responsible and safety-focused
- Ability to interact respectfully and patiently with children and families
- Must pass background check and required screenings
Schedule & Hours:
- Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons (split shift schedule). Flexibility can be considered.
- Approximately 8-12 hours per week can be specified based on your needs
