Overview
Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician will assist in the fabrication and assembly of systems learn to read and understand build instructions and develop skills in using common electronic/electrical fabrication tools. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone looking to start their career in engineering technology.
- Assist in the assembly modification and maintenance of electronics equipment and systems including but not limited to: mounting electrical control panels; building cables chassis and panels; soldering connectors and splices; wiring systems; mounting equipment (custom and COTs).
- Learn to read and understand build instructions including schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Develop skills in using common electronic/electrical fabrication tools.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers and technologists to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Maintain the lab/fabrication area tools and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent certification/education in a related field (engineering technology electronics or a related field.)
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Windows-based computer systems.
- Basic knowledge of IPC standards is preferred.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and redlining prints is preferred.
- Experience with soldering wiring and assembling electronic components is preferred.
- Must be willing to learn and take direction from experienced engineers and technologists.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools and precision instruments.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- United States citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
