About the Opportunity
Join a prestigious multi-accredited law firm with over 200 years of heritage serving the Yorkshire region. Were seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join our established Family Law department offering exceptional career development opportunities within one of Sheffields leading legal practices.
The Role
Youll manage a varied caseload of family law matters providing compassionate yet robust legal representation to clients during challenging times whilst working within our supportive and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a diverse caseload of family law matters with increasing autonomy
Handling divorce proceedings financial settlements and matrimonial disputes
Advising on children matters including residence contact and specific issue orders
Conducting negotiations and attending court hearings for family proceedings
Drafting legal documents including petitions financial disclosure forms and court applications
Providing clear empathetic advice to clients during emotionally challenging situations
Representing clients at Family Court hearings and case management conferences
Handling cohabitation disputes pre-nuptial agreements and civil partnership matters
Managing domestic violence cases and emergency injunction applications
Liaising with barristers experts social services and other professionals
Building and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service delivery
Mentoring junior staff and contributing to departmental development
What Were Looking For
Qualified Solicitor with minimum 2 years PQE in Family Law
Comprehensive knowledge of family law procedures and Children Act provisions
Experience in financial remedy proceedings and matrimonial finance
Strong advocacy skills and confidence in court proceedings
Excellent client care skills with empathetic yet professional approach
Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and emotional intelligence
Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
Proficiency in family law case management systems and legal technology
Resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure
Commitment to continuing professional development in family law
