What you can expect to work on The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the financial health of the organization. This role partners with the Controller and cross-functional teams to manage financial operations reporting budgeting and strategic planning. - Manage general ledgers and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes including account reconciliations.
- Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Support budgeting forecasting and financial modeling to guide decision-making.
- Perform manufacturing analysis and cost reduction planning.
- Lead and support the accounting team fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Develop and implement SOPs to improve financial processes and internal controls.
- Coordinate audits regulatory filings and support external CPA engagements.
- Monitor financial performance identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify inefficiencies and lead cost-saving initiatives.
What you need to succeed - Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of GAAP budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Excellent communication analytical and organizational skills.
- Self-starter and expertly performs in a team-oriented collaborative environment.

- Understand how to integrate into a new team/organization appreciates the history of current state know how and when to make suggestions as well as using just the right pace to reach the improved future state.

Great to have - CPA or CMA designation (or actively pursuing).
- FP&A experience.
- 35 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in financial reporting and cost accounting.
Other things to note - Full-time position.
- The companys standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a 6p with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts.
- This position will have regular working hours during M F with an expectation of adjusting to working outside of the standard operating hours as assigned.
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
