Job Description

Vail Health has become the worlds most advanced mountain healthcare system. Vail Health consists of an updated 520000-square-foot 56-bed hospital.   1. Performs hands-on nursing skills including but not limited to: sterile port access peripheral IV placement therapeutic phlebotomy central line care and maintenance foley catheter insertion subcutaneous and intramuscular medication administration.
  2. Engages in thorough assessment of patient condition and individual care needs; collaborates with Shaw providers and members of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered comprehensive care and ensure optimal outcomes.
  3. Works with members of the infusion and pharmacy teams to plan and implement care for patients undergoing complex treatment regimens for cancer and non-cancer diagnoses.
  4. Triages incoming patient requests for services.
  5. Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care employer informed healthcare choices and promote optimal wellness.
  6. Delegates care appropriately and according to Colorado statue.
  7. Administers medications performs treatments and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
  8. Coordinates patient care with other physician practices Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  9. Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety patient preferences and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
  10. Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
  12. Monitors patient response to therapy; collaborates with Shaw providers as changes in clinical condition arise to provide timely and effective safety interventions.
