This position serves as the liaison for external departments and agencies meeting with and/or preparing reports at the direction of the CEO. Management relies on the expertise of this position to make data driven decisions to both internal and external departments may include the district attorneys office county jails courts jail RISE Program etc. and internal CMHIP departments (patient units admissions medical/legal records court services communications etc.) in order review and prepare dashboards to foster timely movement of patients and to remove unnecessary barriers to incoming patients and to ensure appropriate and timely patient placement and movement into out of and through the hospital; improve hospital operations as assigned by the CEO; evaluate and monitor timely implementation of assigned performance improvement initiatives and foster employee engagement and transparent communication throughout the hospital through initiatives as assigned by the CEO. This position facilitates committees as assigned and coordinates all special events for the hospital. Duties in this position include:
oversees the numerous patient admission and patient movement processes to maintain settlement agreement time frames
acts as liaison for all CMHIP internal departments involved in patient admission progressive movement and discharge movement for patients specifically this position assists the President of the Medical Staff in facilitating medical clearances patient assignment to programs and prompt progressive movement through programs. Various departments have roles in the processes but communication is not always optimal
organizes interdepartmental meetings and processes to ensure smooth operations for patient services and patient placement. These include interdepartmental coordination for the program directors/team coordinators patient movement meeting the CMHIP patient admission meeting the meeting to address legal or placement barriers and numerous unit visits for treatment planning meetings
follows the legal process of cases that appear to be neglected in the court system and contacts attorneys to resolve problems that slow the progress of the case; specifically solving barriers to ITP patient placements
serves as liaison for the Pueblo District Attorney Office and other state legal offices
initiates and coordinates interagency communications to discuss services provided by CMHIP and to improve services; to advise the courts sheriffs and lawyers of impediments to timely admission of their clients/inmates
develops interagency procedures for the smooth transfer of patients and to develop and maintain good working relationships with these external customers
Administrative Projects for CEO:
reviews hospital processes to identify process inefficiencies and makes recommendations regarding problem area responsibility and improvement
gathers data verifies reports contacts appropriate parties internally and externally and establishes new policies and processes
reports the status for these evaluations to the CEO and suggests initiatives to improve processes
develops writes and updates policy and procedures for internal CMHIP processes and for interagency processes. Serves as committee chair and facilitates committees as assigned by the CEO
work directly with the Marketing and Comms Specialist preparing communication strategies targeted for internal and external audiences of the hospital. This position
is considered a leadership role within the community and is expected to respond during the activation of the emergency or evacuation collaboration with the media and comms specialist this position oversees develops and edits written materials regarding CMHHIP specific communications to be published in print digital and social media spaces; ensuring consistent and compelling messaging that is consistent with the values mission vision and direction of the hospital.
utilizes strong writing skills and critical thinking. Develops and implements CMHHIP communications strategies and initiatives
designs writes and distributes CMHHIP newsletters and email communications after leadership approval
strategizes new tactics and ideas for execution of effective CMHHIP communications
implements recommended appropriate voice tone and messaging for all CMHHIP communications
Drafts and revises talking points presentations and documents
is responsible for the management of the CMHHIP monitors and newsletter.
support create and facilitate staff rounding meetings for leadership
support create and facilitate the items that will be displayed on the building 125 lobby television
manage the process from start to finish on coordinating activities and initiatives for improving employee engagement and morale. This includes following established Department and DPA policies on such efforts
completing and/or approving official functions for the efforts
host or coordinate facility events to assist in employee engagement events and activities such as facilitation of assigned committees coordination of annual gatherings at the various holidays milestones for successes of teams program launch events and employee recognition in a strategic and equitable manner
additional duties as assigned to support department objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only:
Seven (7) yearsof relevant experience in management and/or supervisory experience and or experience in any of the preferred qualifications.
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education in public health public administration biology or statisticsequal to seven (7) years
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in public health public administration biology or statistics
10 years of management and/or supervisory experience
5 years of experience working in a healthcare setting (e.g. hospital doctor/dental office urgent care clinic)
2 years of event planning
Conditions of Employment:
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position (3) provide the employee number from the applicants prior State employment.
