Inspire and Belmont Day School we foster intellectual curiosity honor differences and empower meaningful contribution with excellence respect honesty responsibility caring and -time Afternoon School Nurse (Monday through Friday 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.)Belmont Day School seeks a part-time school nurse to work in the afternoons from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time non-exempt position that reports to the director of operations for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored relocation. ResponsibilitiesUse principles practices and current trends in professional nursing and school health. Provide emergency nursing management for injuries/ plans for student care based on assessment interventions identification of outcomes and the evaluation of and implement school health management protocols. Effectively communicate with students parents administrators colleagues health care providers and community agencies. Oversee infection control medications according to policies and immunizations manage communicable diseases and assess the school environment to prevent injury and ensure referral to parents school personnel or community health resources for intervention remediation and follow-through. Maintain evaluate and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate the individual needs of students and comply with state as a resource to the school staff members consulting with other school professionals such as food service personnel physical education teachers coaches and :Knowledge of state and local laws relating to health and social issues. High level of professionalism.A genuine interest in the student population and its health use of technology including databases and suite of software communication oral and time-management and organization skills.A calm and joyful presence. A sense of humor flexibility energy patience and to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Massachusetts and holds an unrestricted license. Minimum of one (1) year experience in public health nursing community health nursing school health nursing or pediatric nursing in CPR or BLS.
