What You Will Achieve
In this role you will:
- Effectively lead the Specialty Operational area of the Memphis Logistics Center managing the efficient flow of goods services and information between points of origin through order delivery to meet customer and business requirements.
- Ensure that operational KPIs are achieved within business objectives.
- Ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes such as replenishment data interchange demand management electronic data systems administration and related functions.
- Comply with and ensures compliance with Pfizer local state and federal regulations related to Quality EHS Security Dangerous Goods Transportation etc. (FDA DEA DOT OSHA EPA etc.).
- Build effective relationships with customers through logistics initiatives integrates learnings from customers competitors operating entities transportation customer service industry and professional groups to continuously improve the competitive position.
- Responsibilities may include occasional special project work and other duties as assigned by the Site Leadership.
- Ensure to develop colleagues to achieve their maximum potential.
- Manage projects and set objectives lead people technology and financial resources.
- Actively share knowledge and identify potential improvements in processes
- Recognize development needs create opportunities for colleagues and manage the performance of both direct and indirect reports to support business objectives.
- Role also includes working with business units and customer service as necessary to insure effective and efficient flow of outbound Small Package LTL and TL shipments from the Memphis Logistics Center.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Applicant must have a bachelors degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a masters degree with 0 years of experience; OR an associates degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience performing inventory management transactions within an ERP system experience with SAP is preferable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Robust technical and functional knowledge of systems applications
- Deep understanding of industry standards and business operations
- Strong PC skills required (Outlook Excel PowerPoint)
- Experience in managing direct reports
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Demonstrated leadership capability in a pharmaceutical warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
- A solid understanding of Quality Management and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and ongoing work activities
- Thorough understanding and management of Cold Chain requirements.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Normal Indoor/Mfg/Main/Production Warehouse. Long hours spent standing and walking on concrete on the Warehouse floor or sitting are required.
- Ability to work in Cold Environment.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Sometimes additional hours are required as the business levels dictate. These may include evenings and weekends on occasion. Some lifting of packages of up to 40 lbs may be required.
