This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective on July 1 2026.
As a Paralegal you will carry out a wide range of paralegal and administrative duties including researching and analyzing legal information such as statutes court decisions codes rules and regulations for use by staff attorneys. You will also provide legal and administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the Office of Legal Services.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time):
General knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and local court rules.
Preferred knowledge of legal practice management software.
Skill in:
Significant attention to detail as it relates to document preparation proof reading and ensuring matter deadlines are met.
Ability to:
Draft a wide range of legal documentsincluding briefs pleadings appeals contracts affidavits subpoenas discovery requests and amended articlesfor attorney review and use.
File legal documents in state and federal courts as well as with administrative agencies and hearing offices.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with attorneys clients court personnel and outside parties in a professional and diplomatic manner.
Investigate case facts and applicable law by interviewing witnesses gathering evidence and organizing supporting documentation.
Maintain organize and update case files and legal records to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Manage and track critical deadlines by calendaring hearings briefing schedules and other key dates; set reminders for attorneys and relevant parties.
Conduct thorough legal research including case law analysis and Shepardizing to confirm authority.
Prioritize and manage multiple cases and assignments simultaneously adapting to shifting demands and tight deadlines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through experience formal education (including certificates credentials or degree-based programs) or a combination of both. Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
Education training and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor degree in paralegal studies and one year of related progressively responsible experience to include legal research and writing litigation support case preparation or 5 years directly related experience.
Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
Or
Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
