Job Description

Join CHEP as an Income Tax Manager Alpharetta/Atlanta

Are you a strategic tax professional ready to lead cross-border initiatives and shape the future of tax compliance across the Americas Join Brambles as a Tax Manager where youll be the driving force behind our U.S. Canadian and LATAM tax operationspartnering with global teams managing external advisors and influencing key financial decisions. Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead the preparation of the consolidated tax returns for Brambles Ltd across the regional jurisdiction
  • Prepare or review complex tax provision calculations ensuring compliance with both local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Lead monthly reconciliations of indirect and/or direct tax accounts ensuring accurate reporting and timely submission.
  • Prepare and review regional tax returns and provisional tax calculations ensuring timely and accurate submissions particularly for more complex tax matters.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research preparing detailed file notes and documentation to support and defend tax positions globally.
  • Maintain and enhance Brambles tax risk management framework ensuring strong processes and controls across multiple regions.
  • Lead ad hoc tax projects to drive improvements to tax processes and procedures identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and compliance.
  • Serve as a key liaison with finance and tax team members globally ensuring clear communication and collaboration on tax reporting and compliance initiatives.

About the Role

AsIncomeTax Manager youll be the central figure in managing income tax compliance for Brambles U.S. and Canadian business units while supporting LATAM operations. Youll collaborate with internal stakeholders across Global Tax Controllership FP&A Treasury and Legal and lead engagements with external tax advisors auditors and government agencies.

Location:Alpharetta GA - Hybrid in office

What Youll Do

U.S. & Canadian Operations

  • Lead the outsourced U.S. and Canadian income tax compliance engagement.
  • Prepare consolidated U.S. and Canadian income tax provisions for half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Conduct tax research and provide strategic insights on complex tax issues.
  • Forecast annual cash tax obligations and support tax planning initiatives.
  • Manage federal and state income tax audits and defend audit positions.

LATAM Support

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing income tax provisions for LATAM entities.
  • Review cash tax forecasts and ensure timely filings via a compliance calendar.
  • Collaborating with the LATAM Sr. Tax Manager to support regional tax strategies

What You Bring:

  • Education: BS in Accounting or related field; Masters in Tax preferred.
  • Certification: CPA or CPA-eligible.
  • Experience: 7-10 years in a corporate tax environment will consider candidates with only Big 4
  • Highly Desired: 4-6 years in Big 4 or similar public accounting

Specific Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax law.
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax law
  • LATAM tax law a plus
  • Strong grasp of income tax accounting IAS12 Preferred (ASC 740) is also acceptable
  • Experience with audit defense tax planning and governance within a large to medium sized multi-national organization (US & Canada)
