  • FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE -TWO YEAR TERM
    (Term to expire at the conclusion of the 2026-2027 School Year)


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High school diploma
    2. College or equivalent training in interpersonal relations desired
    3. Experience in community relations or related activities with adults and/or parents
    4. Excellent language and oral communication skills
    5. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work with educators in promoting improved home-schoolrelations
    6. Ability to organize meetings workshops staff inservices etc.
    7. Willingness to work different hours as necessary
    8. Ability to work effectively with staff students parents and public
    9. Possession of valid California drivers license and personal automobile for use on district business

    REPORTS TO: Administrator as assigned

    JOB GOAL: To assist student achievement by supporting community relations process providing training and support for school site community relations liaisons administrators and staff; to establish organize and implement effective parent and community engagement activities and facilitate operational procedures for parent resource centers

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Facilitates school site effort to involve parents in academic health-conscious and social success of their children by coordinating variety of services and programs designed to increase academic achievement and improve overall educational experience
    2. Assists staff in developing and implementing informational workshops events projects and other activities to increase parent participation and engagement in educational program
    3. Understands and maintains current knowledge of State and District standards in order to assist staff in promoting parent understanding of school programs
    4. Attends meetings and training inservices and reports on progress of program as needed
    5. Keeps records makes reports coaches and supports staff; facilitates all operational procedures necessary for functioning of parent resource centers
    6. Implements and maintains records of Title I requirements pertaining to parent involvement family and community engagement District parent advisory groups parent education and parent resource centers
    7. Attends collaborative community meetings in order to disseminate information pertaining to school and family resources and parent involvement opportunities
    8. Provides field information to resolve concerns consistent with policy
    9. Develops and implements methods to increase parent attendance at meetings
    10. Supports and participates in preparation and distribution of monthly newsletters and other educational materials to inform parents of school policies and academic support for their children
    11. Models personal and professional values of equity integrity caring collaboration personal and collective accountability
    12. Performs other related duties as assigned

    SALARY: $21.43 - $34.87 per month

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Districts Improvement of Professional Services handbookBoard Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable

    NEW PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES AND PERMANENT EMPLOYEES WHO BECOME PROBATIONARY UPONRECLASSIFICATION:

    A new employee or a permanent employee who is changed to a new classification shall serve a probationary period which shall not exceed six (6) months of duty time exclusive of leaves of absence or other absences. During this probationary period the employee must meet the required standards of performance to be recommended for permanent status in the classification. A probationary classified service employee may be terminated from the probationary classification at any time without cause without right of appeal or hearing before the Board of Education. Pursuant to Education Code section 45113 a permanent employee who accepts a promotion and fails to complete the probationary period for that promotional position shall be employed in the classification from which he or she was promoted.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operators license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
