Where you will work
The Augusta mill sits along the Savannah River on the state border between Georgia and South Carolina and manufactures light medium and heavy weight coated paperboard. It is a well-invested SBS paperboard manufacturing facility with approximately 600 thousand tons of capacity. This facility boasts over 700 employees and has been in operation for almost 65 years. Located on 3000 acres the Augusta site operates two paper machines that produce 1940 tons per day. The Augusta Mill is Clearwater Papers largest paperboard facility and critical to the success of our strategy and future.
Augusta Georgia is a vibrant community along the Georgia/South Carolina border about 150 miles east of Atlanta and 70 miles west of Columbia. What you will do
Organizational Leadership
- Supervises assigned electricians and leadmen providing positive direction and management to assigned crews
- Conducts performance reviews
- Works closely with business unit managers mechanical maintenance supervisorsshift supervisors planning department and department personnel to assure all electrical maintenance activities are coordinated and executed to established plans and schedules
- Assesses the needs of the crew and implements developmental processes (e.g. coaching counselling taking corrective action mentoring etc.) to continuously improve their performance
- Coordinates weekend and nightly mill wide calls
- Aids in payroll approval process
- Reviews job assignments
- Oversees maintenance activities
Safety and Environmental
- Provides regular inspections of work areas to assure that good housekeeping practices are followed and that all department area maintenance facilities and tools
are kept in good repair - Instructs and leads crew in safe work practices in pursuit of zero injuries
- Verifies that all safety recordkeeping is done in a timely manner
- Ensures constructive safety meetings are conducted with timely follow-up on items of concern
- Plans coordinates and executes electrical repairs on overhead cranes and lifting devices
- Completes monthly inspections as scheduled
- Supports the mills behavior-based safety program and assures that area maintenance employees are given the necessary time required for making safety observations
Production Maintenance Project Planning and Execution
- Coordinates own activities and those of area employees to assure that all E&I maintenance work is conducted in a low-cost culture and achieving optimum
equipment and process reliability - Maintains a high level of awareness of all E&I maintenance activities being performed throughout the mill
- Identifies and corrects any potential problems (troubleshooting) taking appropriate action as necessary to prevent serious equipment failure
- Organizes and facilitates with planning department for development of weekly maintenance schedule
- Develops and maintains crew schedules
- Prioritizes plans organizes and executes maintenance shutdowns and shop rebuilds
- Controls maintenance timeline and cost
Equipment Reliability
- Monitors equipment efficiency and preventive/predictive maintenance procedures to identify problems and set up corrective repairs
- Maintains department repair records in a manner to best identify future preventive maintenance needs
- Observes and identifies equipment which has excessive/repetitive maintenance costs
- Processes purchase orders on equipment repairs
- Plans coordinates and executes lubrication system oil analysis and schedules

What you will need
- High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Electrical Maintenance Electronics or related field preferred
- Minimum five years Electrical or Electronics experience in a production facility is required. Prior experience in a leadership position with supervisory experience preferred
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Access and Outlook required
- Experience using a Computer Maintenance Management System is required (JDE preferred)
- Must have good E&I and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to supervise employees
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- High speed manufacturing environment sustained exposure to high frequency noises multiple hours standing walking on concrete surfaces
- Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment
- Dirt noise odor & temperature extremes
- Climbing stairs ladders and scaffolding
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process.
