Job summary: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks working directly and indirectly with students. These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time. Provide lunch and recess supervision.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment setting up physical education equipment preparing and setting up art supplies.
Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills e.g. math science English color recognition decision making self-esteem building etc.
Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art physical education dramatics.
Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems e.g. separate math skill worksheet not a part of teachers curriculum.
Type worksheets tests or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
Basic knowlegde of iPads Chromebooks and Google Suite
Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.

Minimum qualifications include:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate ability to work with students.
Computer and word processing experience helpful.
Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesotas standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
- An Associates (or higher) degree; Minnesotas standard: An AA AS AAS (or higher) degree OR
- Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
Must be highly qualified (HQ) within 30 days from the date of employment will pay for the exam and up to 10 hours of prep and exam time.

Work schedule: 6 hours/day; 5 hours/day Instructional; 1 hour/day Clerical
