Job Description:
In addition to determining if applications meet minimum requirements other job duties include but are not limited to: Assist HR staff in the preparation of mission criticality statements prior to posting jobs; Develop and maintain standardized job posting language for commonly/frequently used job classifications across the agency as a whole; Develop and maintain the interview question bank for commonly/frequently used job classifications across the agency as a whole to ensure consistency; Serve as a backup within the HR team to manage job postings (through Workday and other job boards like Indeed and LinkedIn) applications and applicants across the agency to ensure applicants are followed up with in a timely manner when local HR is unable to do so this includes conducting interviews extending conditional job offers running background checks and coordinating and conducting the HR portion of new employee orientation; Attend recruiting events/job fairs to advertise NDVA as an employer across the state; Create and run reports related to job postings applications time to hire etc.; Develop maintain and conduct training for HR staff on Workday job postings the application review process applicant workflow in Workday and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications: One year of coursework or training in personnel management business administration public administration or office/administrative or two years of related experience.
Knowledge of: personnel practices procedures and terminology; the goals and requirements of record maintenance and confidentiality; federal personnel/employment laws; standard personnel payroll benefits and related budgeting practices forms and requirements; standard teammate/job safety and health practices; general labor/teammate management relations requirements and practices.
Ability to: communicate in person and by telephone computer email and correspondence with the supervisor and other agency teammates to exchange factual information and explain processes and guidelines; understand and apply instructions; evaluate similarities and differences between two sets of information; operate office equipment; set up and maintain record keeping systems and databases; understand explain and apply agency and state rules policies procedures and guidelines; recommend changes to procedures; compile data and prepare summaries of personnel transactions and activities.
