Part Time GED Instructor
What we are looking for! A part time GED Instructorfor a Work Release setting located in Jacksonville FL. We work with men who are re-entering our communities and assist them with getting employment and becoming productive members of their community. This is a work release program that is staffed 24/7. Our ideal candidate will be empathetic a team player have excellent boundaries written and verbal communication skills energetic creative and willing to learn and understand some aspects of the correctional system in Florida and represent yourself as a positive role model.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct inmates to help them obtain a credential equivalent to a high school diploma in the areas of math science writing reading and social studies. Assess inmates to determine their learning program abilities and needs. Aid inmates in obtaining appointments for their GED testing. Conduct ABE classes with inmates as appropriate to their education level/abilities. Participate as a member of the clinical treatment team and attend all Clinical Staff Meetings. Maintain any certification and/or license as required to conduct the GED and ABE classes. Responsible for the security and safety of the inmates while attending GED or ABE classes. Maintain daily class attendance sheets. Maintain all necessary inmate education documentation as required by the contract and Supervisor. All other related duties assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
MUST HAVE A BS/BA DEGREE AND POSSESS THE NECESSARY LICENSURE ETC. TO CONDUCT BOTH GED AND ABE CLASSES.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to administer TABE testing to all clients. Ability to interpret the TABE test to ensure accurate identification level of placement in ABE or GED classes.
