Job Description
Job Summary:
You will be responsible for the accounting function coordination of financial reporting for the operation and the financial administration in Japan which is the subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Inc.
You will work closely with the sales organization to insure smooth interaction with the operations. You should feel comfortable performing most of the tasks yourself since our operation in Japan has a very lean organization.
Detailed Descrption:
- Financial Reporting
- Full responsibility for the daily accounting function (A/R A/P Payment Journal entries Bank reconciliation etc.).
- Full responsibility for monthly and quarterly closing activities preparing reconciliations and ensuring timely accurate financial reporting in accordance to relevant standards and corporate policies
- Handle the budget preparation and forecasting process in collaboration with various business units and functions
- Assist or lead system implementation and enhancement projects including Power BI Dolphin Concur and CRM tools etc.
- Support Sales team with required business and financial information
- Support local operation with office administration issues
- Support regional controller for other group tasks/ duties as assigned
- Payments & Approvals
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for payment arrangement
- Assist in collating all electronic recurring and adhoc office and operational invoices for submission
- Oversee approval process and requirements of payments and related tasks ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure provision of proper accounting records and reports to meet corporate accounting policies and local statutory requirements.
- Compliance
- Maintain strong internal control environment and rectify any control issues in a timely and effective manner
- Contribute to the implementation of best practices including continual process re-engineering and improvements to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Work closely with tax advisors act as the primary PIC for compliance statutory and regulatory reporting obligations in Japan
- Coordinates the administration of payroll with external provider; Ensures compliance with government agencies.
Requirements:
- degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline with accounting qualification
- good business knowledge with hands-on experience from positions on an operational level
- at least five years work experience from an accounting environment with focus on accounting forecasting budgeting and analytical skills
- strong analytical interpersonal and communication skills
- highly motivated team player with positive attitude
- Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
- knowledge in SAP and the reporting systems BPC and OneStream would be a plus.
- Fluency in English are required.
- International travel will be required.
