Job Summary

Veterans Engineering (VE) is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support clinical operations at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. This position offers the opportunity to serve Veterans in a federal healthcare environment while working alongside a dedicated medical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture capillary and special collection procedures with accuracy and care.

  • Verify patient identity and ensure proper specimen labeling and documentation.

  • Prepare handle and transport laboratory specimens in compliance with VA and federal guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate records of specimen collections and sterilization processes.

  • Follow strict infection control and safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams to support patient care needs.

  • Maintain supply inventory and ensure timely delivery of specimens and supplies.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience (required).

  • High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a Phlebotomy training program preferred.

  • BLS Certification (AHA preferred).

  • Must be proficient in English (speak read write and understand fluently).

  • Ability to provide documentation verifying competency certifications and licensure as requested by the VA.

  • Must complete all VA-mandated training and continuing education requirements (CMEs/CEUs).

Schedule
  • Day Shift (full-time onsite)

    • 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

    • 6:30 AM 3:00 PM

    • 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

    • 7:30 AM 4:00 PM

    • 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

  • Shifts may vary within the day schedule based on the needs of the laboratory.
