Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is seeking a Highway Civil Engineer with experience in the design of highway and urban roadway projects to join as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team in our Hunt Valley MD office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects and will work closely with our other civil groups and markets. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual who is inspired to promote and support the growth of our roadway highway and civil sectors for both our public and private clients including municipalities throughout the state of Maryland.
This position is a hybrid role and offered at our Hunt Valley MD office.
Responsibilities:
- Support Highway/Roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities traffic calming treatments urban street roadway designs and modifications accessibility improvements transit network upgrades drainage assessments and designs public and private utility coordination and green infrastructure elements.
- Provide technical expertise on projects from initial conceptual and preliminary engineering through final design and construction.
- Coordinate with architects bridge environmental geotechnical survey and traffic professionals to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables.
- Prepare detailed civil design plans specifications cost estimates and bid packages.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that production of specifications reports and analysis meet scope schedule cost and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from ABET accredited engineering program.
- 3-6 years of design experience in the highway transportation field.
- Engineer-in-Training certification is required.
- Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of employment is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation Inroads/OpenRoads and AutoTURN.
- Experience with project delivery of State Agency Transportation Departments.

Benefits:Kleinfelder offers excellent compensation and benefits package including medical dental vision life insurance 401(k) plan and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $67980 - $94162 per year.
