The Infrastructure Product Group (IPG) is a high-performing agile DevSecOps team driving the management and delivery of new services into the FCA AWS Cloud Datacentre. Operating within the Technology departments multi-product group landscape IPG collaborates closely with scrum teams- including product owners product analysts and platform managers- to continuously innovate and meet business demands. The team blends engineering expertise with operational roles such as operations analysts and Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) focusing on reliability transformation projects and standardisation through SSD frameworks.
Alongside these technical responsibilities IPG also manages contract management finances and budgets while championing account enablement and seamless integration of technology solutions. What will you be doing
Guide the SRE Observability Community of Practice championing best practices strategic alignment and education across teams
Design implement and automate observability solutions for deployment monitoring incident response and performance optimisation
Ensure system reliability and scalability driving continuous improvement high availability and data-driven decision-making
Collaborate cross-functionally with product development and operations teams to embed observability into system design and processes
Mentor and guide team members fostering a culture of ownership learning and innovation while supporting professional growth
Manage infrastructure and cloud resources optimising costs improving operational efficiency and staying ahead of industry trends

Which skills are required

Minimum
Experience as a Technical/Solution Architect designing enterprise-scale products platforms and systems on AWS and/or Azure across multiple programmes and projects
Experience designing implementing and maintaining observability tools (logging metrics tracing monitoring alerting) and shaping observability strategy and architecture using best practices (e.g. Datadog)
Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile Waterfall DevSecOps) and familiarity with key development tools such as Jira Git Jenkins GitHub Terraform and CodeGen AI
Essential
Experience demonstrating continuous professional development and engagement with industry innovators and professional bodies showcasing a commitment to innovation
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly describe negotiate and influence complex detailed solutions across diverse stakeholder groups
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities capable of working confidently with incomplete information in uncertain environments while delivering well-documented compliant designs aligned with FCA strategies
