Summary
Provide technical and other supporting assistance in the laboratories as assigned.Job Description
The Laboratory Technologist will work in but not limited to Cytogenetics Genetics or Infectious Disease (ID):
Clinical laboratory to perform clinical laboratory testing including manual and automated methods in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Responsible for pre-analytical analytical and post-analytical phases of testing. Ensures all medical laboratory safety standards and quality requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel. Must utilize critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
Perform other duties as assigned with a supportive leadership geared focus to meet goals expectations and be accountable to self team and organization. Support leadership in providing guidance and mentoring of other staff when needed or as assigned. Provide guidance regarding policies procedures and other matters related to day-to-day duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in biology or other related field that includes 30 combined semester hours of biological science and chemistry required.1 year applicable laboratory experience preferred.
Laboratory related certification required within 12 months from date of hire into the position.
