Strategic Initiatives Lead, Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO)

As a key member of the Strategic Initiatives Team you will lead growth opportunities across WWSO (Worldwide Specialist Organization). Our team accelerates growth by identifying validating and scaling new opportunities combining business strategy technical expertise and operational excellence to transform insights into impactful initiatives aligned with WWSO and AWS strategic priorities.

WWSO Mission: WWSO builds and executes strategies that accelerate AWS adoption while democratizing expertise and driving product innovation led by our vision to ensure AWS is the best place to run todays and tomorrows workloads. The Strategic Initiatives Team plays a crucial role in this vision by identifying and validating opportunities that drive meaningful customer outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement mechanisms to test strategic hypotheses
- Meet directly with customers partners and service teams to identify emerging market opportunity and/or refine strategic focus areas
- Qualify impact of potential initiatives through data analysis and market validation
- Lead stakeholder alignment around high-impact opportunities
- Develop business cases and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
- Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate feasibility of new opportunities
- Build mechanisms to measure impact and track progress of strategic initiatives

This role reports to the Strategic Initiatives Team leadership and works closely with Technical and Programs teams to drive growth initiatives across WWSO.

About the team
This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy recruiting development and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

- 5 years of experience in strategy consulting or business development
- Experience designing and running business experiments
- Track record of stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
- Cloud/technology industry experience
- Strong understanding of AWS services and partner ecosystem

- Experience working with technical teams
- Experience working with leading global sales organizations or at a top-tier strategy consulting firm
- Strong understanding of IT markets industry trends and competitive dynamics
- Track record of delivering impactful data-driven recommendations to senior executives at a global or regional level

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
