What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking a Senior Coordinator for Fitness Programs to support the Assistant Director of Fitness in leading safe inclusive and quality fitness programs and operations. This role oversees Campus Recreation fitness spacesincluding the Fitness Center and Group Fitness Studioswhile managing student staffing certifications and daily operations. The position advances health and wellness across campus and promotes student development through leadership and training.

A Masters degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge/skills/abilities:

  • Nationally Certified Personal Trainer and/or Group Fitness Instructor Certification and/or Equivalent
  • Strong Leadership Skills: organizational interpersonal and communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and campus partners
  • Two years demonstrated leadership/management experience

What You Will Do

Staffing & Development

  • Recruit hire train schedule and evaluate student employees
  • Track and ensure timely certification renewals
  • Maintain a professional growth-oriented environment.

Facility Operations & Equipment Management

  • Oversee safe daily operations of all fitness spaces
  • Assist in scheduling and leading group fitness classes
  • Maintain equipment coordinate repairs and manage inventory
  • Support program marketing and special events
  • Establish and enforce risk management and safety standards and policies

Safety Education Development & Certification Management

  • Preparing and developing student staff to lead well
  • Deliver or coordinate safety and instructional training

Collaboration & Campus Engagement

  • Partner with campus and community organizations to enhance fitness initiatives
  • Represent Campus Recreation in health and wellness programs across campus
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
