Residential Support Worker. Permanent Part-Time & Casual - Bunbury

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Residential Youth Support Workers to join our Bunbury & South West are hands-on Permanent Part-Time or Casual positions with most time spent in the house or participating in recreational will be working directly with children and young people; the positions are based in a 24/7 Residential Setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters. The program prioritises the safety and well-being of children and young people offering a predictable home-like environment that is culturally safe and responsive.

KeyResponsibilities

• Promote and assist young people to achieve goals identified in Individual Case Plans
• Assist young people to develop independence and build community networks
• Support the young persons interests
• Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with young people to achieve positive outcomes
• Manage behavioural escalations and assist the young person to co-regulate emotionally
• Domestic duties and supporting the young person to learn how to look after themselves eg cooking housework laundry
• Communicate with the care team and report incidents promptly and accurately
• Medication administration (when required)
• Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping

Skills & Experience

• Minimum qualification level - Certificate IV in Youth Work Mental Health or relevant qualification
• Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and neglect including the management of behaviours of concern
• Ability to demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholders
• Demonstrate confidentiality and have strong understanding of professional boundaries
• Experience working with young people from indigenous or other cultural backgrounds
• A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009) Certificate/s
• A current Drivers Licence

Additionally experience with behavioural management approaches including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) positive behaviour support trauma and attachment Sanctuary or CARE residential models will be highly regarded

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check Department of Communities Check and Working with Children Check.
